Peru
Visa
Citizens of Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay who travel to Peru for tourism purposes, can enter the national territory carrying only their national identity document or card (in case of Colombian minors, they can carry their identity card).
Citizens of Venezuela need to have some type of visa to enter Peru, unless they have permanent residence in a member country of the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia or Mexico).
When a minor child or adolescent travels, it is necessary to have a Travel Authorization for minors (you can request this procedure to pasaportes@consuladodelperu.org.co).
Passport
Passport is needed as part of the requirement to travel to Peru, the passport must be valid and have more than six months remaining validity by the date of travel.
Passport expiration date is important
Because stays as a tourist in Peru are up to 90 days and, in other cases, up to 183 days. You don’t want to risk your passport expiring while traveling in Peru.
If your passport is lost or stolen
The first thing you should do is report the theft or loss to the police, keep the copy of the report they give you and request a new passport at the consular headquarters or embassy of your country of origin. You need to have the new document before leaving Peru.
If you do not have a passport
You can travel with a citizenship card if you have a citizenship card in countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay, you can enter with this document without the need to present your passport. Remember that it is always recommended that your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your date of return from Peru.
